For plasterers

Skim to a real edge instead of fighting an open electrical cutout.

Socket and spotlight holes interrupt a smooth wall or ceiling. The bead temporarily closes that gap, supports the wet finish and leaves a reinforced edge when the centre is removed. The range covers thin skim work on plasterboard and drylining as well as deeper float-and-set, two-coat plaster systems.

Where it helps

A more predictable finish around every opening

Common frustrations

  • Trying to build a neat edge around unsupported plasterboard or drylining cutouts
  • Wet plaster falling through downlight holes or getting into electrical back boxes
  • Returning to repair chipped edges or recessed-looking sockets after second fix
  • Inconsistent results across skim, dot-and-dab and repeat housing work

How the beads help

  • Staple the bead in place and skim straight across the protected opening
  • Use the approximately 3 mm skim range or 12 mm float-and-set range for two-coat plaster as appropriate
  • Coordinate the finished surface with the electrician before covering dot-and-dab or drylining boxes
  • Form specialist openings for extractor fans and downlights with a defined edge
